This fine linen case is hand embroidered in very pale blue cotton thread using trailing stitch, corded satin stitch, padded satin stitch, seed stitch, eyelets and granitos. The front edge of the case is stitched with buttonhole stitch using reticulated scallops and small scallops. The inside was sewn by machine with a very tiny french seam and has a tiny pleat at each bottom corner. It probably was used for storing handkerchiefs or napkins, and is in good shape for it's age, which is probably the early 1900's.
