Learn the basics about English Smocking, that gorgeous embroidery found on beautiful, custom children's clothing and many other wonderful items. Students will learn several basic stitches on a piece of pleated fabric that can be inserted into a pillow or garment when completed. Kit includes: pleated fabric insert, embroidery threads, needles and a wonderful, very useful booklet about English Smocking. Class is 3 hours and will also include a pleating demonstration. Students will learn each stitch but will finish their project at home. Prior embroidery experience is helpful, but not required. Students should bring small scissors, notebook and pen.
